Music does not suffer from a lack of information. Credits, rights, agreements, identifiers, registrations, and royalty statements exist across countless systems. Each record may make sense on its own while the truth of the work disappears between them. The systems built to move music created order at enormous scale. But order is not the same as truth. When the records disagree, the people closest to the work often have the least power to put them right.

In Ancient Greek, arché names both the origin of a thing and the authority that governs it. Beginning and rule, held in one word. That is the idea at the center of Arcke: the artist is not only where the work begins. Their relationship to it is the source of their authority.
